Native American, Fine Art Sculpture by Wynd
Wynd began creating stoneware sculpture early in his career. All of these works average 18" in height with hand crafted hardwood bases, actual fur, feathers, fabric, shell and period jewelry. Moist natural hood clay is hand sculpted, hollowed out, dried, and fired in a gas kiln. The earthenware is then fired a second time using an iron oxide glaze to complete the one of kind stoneware art. Wynd finds his inspiration in historical research. Each piece displayed is authentic and historically accurate for the Plains Indians during the period known as "The Trail of Tears". Wynd also creates work in bronze, shown here for the work "Shadow Soul".
